It was my dream to be a singer

Hi, I am Marianna, born and raised in Hungary, living in Amsterdam more than a decade now.

As a child I always dreamt about being a singer, I sang whenever I could, but I was also shy. I went to music school to learn piano, and music, but somehow becoming a singer remained just a dream…

First Steps

I almost buried this dream, when I moved to Budapest to study Psychology. Still, life has brought singing back to my life in mysterious ways- I got a job as a karaoke hostess!

I remember the first time I sang there- I instantly turned red and I was shaking. But bit by bit, I started to become more confident and visitors of the bar encouraged me to take it to the next level.

Finding my voice

The encouragements inspired me to start taking singing lessons at the age 21. It was a really good decision!

Taking lessons helped me not only in improving my voice but also in gaining confidence! Soon I started to put myself out there in many ways: went to talent shows, played in various bands, performed regularly in Budapest.

eXPRESSING ON THE FULLEST

When I moved to Amsterdam, my journey with music went through an evolution!
I started to give singing lessons to adults, giving away all the precious knowledge I have been accumulating.

I also started to perform, first with cover bands, until my songwriting suddenly switched on- and I started to write my own songs, express my unique message and unique self on stage.

Keep on g(r)o(w)ing

Nowadays I am writing even more original music, and performing in Amsterdam and abroad, mostly with my band.

I am also taking part of a lot of community events, going to jam sessions regularly, collaborating and co-creating with fellow musicians.

The journey is keep unfolding!
